*September 11 2006*
5 years already... It seems like yesterday I was sitting in my class while my teacher calmly explained what was happening... It was so sureal. The guy sitting in front of me in my World Hist/Geog class was living in New Jersey. It's so sad. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like. He kept his hands by his face the whole class period. I thought he was going to cry. He is a sophmore now, and he said that he had many friends that had parents who died in the attacks. We were put into groups to discuss what we were doing at the time, and he told us everything. He is usually very talkative and outgoing, but now he was looking at the ground the whole time he was speaking. He wouldn't share it with anyone else though. I don't think he could handle it. But it makes you really think about life....
On a happier note, (and completely unrealted) :
There is this kid in my English Honours class who moved here from Scotland last year. I absolutely postively most defienitly LOVE his accent! Its so cute! I just wish he'd talk more. *sigh* He's really cute to. *dreamy look*
But anyway, since I've seen him, I've been thinking about the accent everyone around me uses - including my own. Well... I'm turning into Ava, because I say 'Sorry' with her canadian accent. But for some reason, I don't think its as annoying as hers... no offense or anything. Also, I've noticed that when I say 'talking' I say it with a british accent. Same with words like 'chocolate' and 'all' But I think that has more to do with the way my mom talks around the house.... Have any of you noticed that before? And (yes there's more) I tend to spell things the british way without trying to... like honours (as above), colour, favourite, centre... ect. I spelled it like that on my spanish homework the other day and I got marked down. :( So I guess I have to be more careful!!
